When Guillermo Gómez-Peña brought Pocha Nostra to Dartmouth College, he worked with students, faculty and staff to produce Orozco MEXotica, a dynamic, interactive performance that played off the Orozco murals in Baker Library. In the following text, Gómez-Peña and his co-authors describe their performance strategy and the rationale for challenging traditional notions of how art transforms public space.
